MF Gift Guide

Gone are the days where practical gifts are tacky or offensive. A new vacuum? YES PLEASE! A gym membership? THANK YOU! If you’ve reached an age somewhere in adulthood, you know, these are the BEST gifts.

Eric has always been an amazing gift giver and he always gives me some sort of gift that will enhance my health or wellbeing. You may remember, last year, what I thought was the practical gift of a deep freezer, ended up being a DIY COLD PLUNGE which, I in fact, grew to LOVE!.

If you are a goal setter, and particularly a health goal kind of person, you’re likely already thinking about what you want to achieve next. Whether it’s a PR, a marathon, or simply incorporating exercise into your daily life, here are some gift ideas, to pass along to a loved one. OR, if you know someone who loves fitness… here are some of my recommendations. Things I’ve received that I cannot live without.

First things first:

The RIGHT leggings I am all about saving money when we can, but I am also a group fitness coach and to be frank, I see a lot of booties. Not all leggings are created equal, and not all dupes are ALL that. I’ve never gone wrong with a real pair of Lulu’s and they do LAST FOREVER.

This DUPE scuba sweatshirt IS GOOD. It’s thick and quality and this is one place where the dupe is as good as the real thing and half the price.

Always time for new socks and if you want a cute curated gift, these first three make the cutest outfit in my opinion!

My 2023 Game Changing Planner : This is the one. It only works if you use it. And it is a discipline, but if you commit to it, I am sure you will love it like I do.

Pre-workout powder is the secret. Have you ever seen someone in the gym with so much focus, power, and commitment to their workout? Pre-workout is the secret. Also, pre-workout is like the easiest first step to make sure you get going on your workout. Taking pre-workout leads to an actual workout 99.9% of the time.

The watch: Ok, so there are many different kinds of activity watches. I never really loved the square watch face but wanted something… I was gifted a Garmin and not only do I wear it daily but it has become my lifeline. I love checking my steps, my heart rate and I even use the timer for my daily tasks.

Nike Metcon shoes : These shoes are soft. Not for running but SO comfortable and for me, the best thing for training in the gym. They’ve become quite popular in the studio where I work. We all love them.

Ok, so some of these are big ticket items. Here’s my thoughts on building a home gym, Invest. If you get some rickety contraption off Facebook Marketplace for a real deal, that’s great but will you USE a rickety contraption? These are all things we’ve invested in, and they have paid off tenfold. Especially because I no longer pay for a gym membership and have everything I need at home.

Tonal: This is something we went back and forth on since it hit the market. But Eric and I LOVE cables. I don’t hear about people talking about this much, but we really love it. I use it almost every day and I love that it knows my strength and pushes my weight for me as I get stronger. Here is a link for $125 off your purchase

Have you ever heard of the Peloton? I was gifted the bike 3 years ago, and well, I didn’t love it. I have never been a stationary bike person and even Cody couldn’t keep me motivated. So I returned it. Enter Peloton Tread… LOVE. And, a new enhancement allows you to stream tv shows if that’s your jam.

A mirror? YES. Do I need? YES. I can’t put into words exactly why it’s so important, but it is. You need to see yourself. You need to make eye contact with yourself. You need a mirror.

Bowflex Dumbbells BEST INVESTMENT IMO. When clients tell me of their dumbbell assortments, I often tell them to go back to the store and buy heavier. !0 pounders aren’t going to cut it anymore folks! I love these because they no space and go all the way up to 52.5lbs EACH!

You should have a bench. This is one of those purchases that is less fun, not so sexy especially if you have your workout area in a common area of your home You can work around having a bench, but if you are building a home gym you should have a bench. This is the one I have and it is affordable and good quality.

Stanley cup. Need I say more? It’s emotional support.

Ear buds. How do people with the little pods keep those things in their ears? I need the wrap arounds. Eric does too. A workout day without music is like the worst. You need music.

A tripod & and selfie stick. Don’t write this off just yet. You might not have aspirations of becoming an influencer, but getting video and taking pictures of yourself is part of a transformation. It can be really cool to watch yourself get better form, stronger, and simply show up for yourself

Hydration & Electrolytes: Electrolytes added to your water are helpful in not only adequately hydrating your body but rebuilding damaged tissue (and strength training creates damaged tissue). These packets are your new perfect stocking stuffer.

MY FAVORITE PROTEIN POWDER: I get asked this ALL THE TIME. Clean Simple Eats is the BEST overall protein powder I’ve found. Eric agrees. We love every flavor we have tried but Vanilla is always reliable.

OH NINJA CREAMI How I Love Thee! I cannot believe I’m saying it because honestly, I hate kitchen gadgets because they take up so much space. I don’t care. This one is worth it.. It makes the creamiest most delicious protein ice cream (60 G protein in a pint! ) and makes so much volume. It’s really awesome.

Dry Shampoo: Have you smelled this stuff? Oribe is the jam.

But do you Roll? If you’re over 40, you can’t deny foam rolling any longer. Spend some time on this during your favorite tv show and release that muscle tightness.

Mat:.If you ever go to yoga, bring your own. The others are ick.

Did I miss anything? What’s on your wishlist?
