5 Ways to travel on track

Many of us Virginia MF'ers are headed out to to Spring Break. Traveling while in the middle of this program can be stressful to some, especially those who don't wan't to break their routine or new habits they worked so hard for. I get that! But at the same time, do you want your kids, or your partner, or your girlfriends to see you as THAT person who is trying to mastermind fun to fit your diet. Of course not! Research shows that taking a week off of working out will not diminish any muscle you have worked so hard for. In fact, taking time off, can actually increase your muscle gains in the long run if it means you come back rested and energized to go hard again on your return! The same goes for nutrition! Most vacations are full of activities and have regimented food schedules. This is by far less detrimental than watching tv with beer and an open bag of chips! And don't forget to YOLO. Seriously! You maybe get a couple vacations a year (if you're lucky). Have the margaritas in Mexico, eat the pasta in Italy, have the pineapple dole whip at Disney, the dive bar food at the beach... if it adds to the memories, you can take macros out of the equation. Here's where traveling will derail you. This is a BIG warning sign. THE RETURN. Let's face it, vacations sometimes also wipe us out! We come home to empty refrigerators, piles of laundry, a full inbox... Finding the time, the motivation, the discipline and the focus is really challenging. So if you are concerned about falling off track, focus your attention on the return. A freezer meal ready, grocery delivery, workout clothes already for your return plus a PLAN to meet a friend at the gym. A commitment to return to logging food... etc. Need more help with this?
